Roughwood Primary School
Roughwood Primary joined Willow Tree Academy in 2017. The Academy was born out of the aspiration that all children should have the same entitlement to the profound primary educational experience they deserve. We ensure all our children are safe from harm and build the emotional resilience, values, skills and knowledge that they need to go on to lead happy and fulfilling lives. We are proud to tell you that our relentless work to ensure an outstanding provision at Roughwood means we are officially a good school with practice described as ‘exceptional’ at our recent Ofsted inspection!
Roughwood Primary is a place where ‘a love of learning grows’ and we know it is ‘in our hands to make every aspiration a reality’. It is a 1 form entry Primary School with between 30 and 40 pupils in each year group and around 300 pupils on roll, aged from 2 to 11 years old.
The school is built on the British Values of respect and empathy. Teamwork, creativity, taking responsibility, and enabling a high sense of personal self-esteem are just some of the qualities that we aim to develop in children. Through our Restorative Practice approach, we enable your children to care for each other and to learn and play together well.
Each year the school goes from strength to strength with the belief that every day is special and no time can be wasted in the pursuit of excellence. Roughwood is very fortunate to have such an incredibly talented team who ensure children have the very best education possible. Staff offer great commitment to children and to the community of Roughwood.
